Sixty-Two Laps

In the summer of 2026, I happened upon an artifact from the late 90’s that lead to one of my most grand creative resets. As I browsed the glass cases of McKay’s—a used books, cds, and vinyl store I frequent often—a dated blue camera box caught my eye. I knelt down to get a closer look of this peculiar relic in its beaten cardboard box and wondered where I had recognized it from. Then, suddenly, it hit me: I was taken back to a conversation I had with my partner Luke a few weeks prior. As he recounted his experience at Texas Furry Fiesta (TFF), he had made mention of a friend he met during the convention. The two of them had taken a turn about the town for a photo walk, Luke’s fursuit having been the main focus (and, of course, assuming Luke was the one wearing it). Towards the end of his recount of the shoot, he mentioned the type of camera his friend was shooting with: a Sony Mavica camera.
